The advertisement to for firewall protection had a lot of innuendos ….

First and foremost there is an attractive woman on the advertisement with a devious look to her. In the word bubble it states “He said he wanted to shop around…I thought I’d help him out! It wasn’t hard to get his credit card info without a firewall up”… The attractive young lady has a few bags thrown around her shoulder. The ad implies that women are gold-diggers. This ad is suppose to advertising protection, they could have easily put pictures of burglary or a hazard symbol. Instead face is placed on who the perpetrators are, an attractive woman, waiting for the perfect moment to prey on victims. Identity theft is a faceless crime, with no specific race, face, or gender. However, this ad has created a stereo type.

This ad has used sex appeal in an awkward way. It seems as if the advertisement is directed towards only men, as if they are the only ones at risk for identity theft. In many cases men would want a product that will enhance their chances of being able to meet attractive women. This product has nothing to do with engaging with women. Instead it says be ware of attractive women. So what message is this really sending to men? … Is the message stating that young attractive women are untrustworthy, or is it that all women are untrustworthy? Could it be suggestion women will use you for the money? … This advertisement is using sex appeal to attract men, and then informs them that this woman is a sour apple…better luck next time!! It is beyond a tease…it is a total let down for men, and may anger them to the point of directing negativity toward women.

Who ever though of this idea, most likely a male, was clearly thinking with one thing on their mind… sex sells everything…

This idea wasn’t thoroughly thought out. For several reasons

The product is not clearly identifiable

Advertisement is geared toward one gender, males.

Suggest that males are the prime target for identity theft

It doesn’t consider the message it is conveying to males

Portrays women in a negative light

Mommy son night is an activity that is similar to Dad daughter night. This activity is on St. Patti’s day. It is suppose to be a night where the elementary age boy spends quality time with their mother along side other boys and mothers.

I think this will be a good opportunity for boys to get to know their mother. It may also help boys learn from other boys how to act and treat women. It could be help them get over the embarrassment of being called a mommas boy, this night could help them feel and look cool.

I wonder what kinds of activities they will have?

On march 17…. St. Patties day a elementary school is putting on a activity night for moms and sons. This activity night is comparable to the daddy daughter dance that happens around Valentine’s Day. This event is schedule to last about three hours.

During this event moms and sons are encourages to strengthen their bond. Snacks and beverages are offered. Some activities that are being offered are building with craft, floor hockey, scavenger hunt, hangman, and dancing.

I think this a great opportunity for boys to learn how to interact with women. Hopefully it will change their perspective one day to realize that women can be fun, its all in what you make of it. I also believe that it would be a great idea for boys to see other boys interacting with their mother. This activity may also allow these boys to learn to act like gentle men, by having ladies. It may instill in them that manners are a plus, and you can still have fun doing so.

I know a man that is similar to a “Jay: An Armchair rapist”. According to Timothy Beneke, he is as man that looks at a pretty woman who takes pride in highlighting her assets, as a tease, a manipulator of man. In his mind the woman is doing this to flaunt what she has, and some how this is degrading to him because he feels that she is laughing in is face and some how degrading him.

I just don’t understand…

Recently I encountered a man that was similar to him. It is my friend’s brother. He saw me at her house the other day in passing. He asked his sister for my number. She said no, but she called me off her phone for him. He asked me if we could go to dinner sometime. I responded by telling him that I was not interested in going out with him. Somehow in his mind I must have said more, or he took my rejection so harsh that he flipped out. He called me an ugly fat bitch that is going to remain single because I don’t know anything about getting or keeping a man. I was instantly offended because I never even met this man before. It was only in passing.

After he hung up his sister called me back and asked what I said to him. I told her the same thing I politely declined his offer by saying that I was not interested in going out with him. She swore I must have said more or something else because she had never seen him so mad. She claimed that he was mad for hours and he kept referring back to how much of a bitch I was. He even told his mother who I was close to about it.

So the next time that I went out to my friend’s house for her sons birthday party he was there. Instantly he started disrespecting me. His mother even jumped in to say that I was not good enough for her son. I was so appalled that she would allow this type of behavior from her son in front of her let alone get involved into this as well when she didn’t even know the truth.

I was so angry. I had the argument with the both of them so that both could understand that I was not in the wrong. Neither one apologized.

At a later date I had a house warming party and my friend brought him with her. I was angry about it but I had company so I did not make any issue of it. They brought a gift, ate good and left. A few days later he sent me a message on face book asking when I was going to cook him breakfast. I was so confused because we were not on good terms. I didn’t respond. He saw me at a grocery store and tried to have a conversation with me. It was in public so I said hi and continued with my shopping. His sister called and asked what was going on wit us. I was so surprised because there was literally nothing that was going on. He saw me as a challenge that he wanted to conquer. He finally called me asking me out again and I lied and said I have a boyfriend.

Later I found out that he had disrespected several other women and one had fell prey to him. He is now serving time (two months) for raping a seventeen year old girl. This girl had told him that she was not interested but some how he felt so disrespected or degraded by her that he felt he had get back at her.
